Islander week was last week and we all had a blast. We did mask
painting with our dates on Tuesday night and on Wednesday night we
rented out Kids Kingdom gymnastics and took our dates out there. The
date party was on Thursday night at the American Legion, and it was a
great time. The culmination of Islander week was Greek Discovery Day
on Saturday. GDD 2009 was a huge success. Even with the snowy weather
there was a good turnout of rushees. The rushees were paired up with
an older Brother and given tours of the house during the day. After
the tours we had shishkabobs for dinner and guys hung around and
chatted with rushees. The main event of the night was a concert
featuring Graham Colton. He was fantastic, and we had a packed crowd
in the Phi Gam dining room. Graham gave us a great show and threw in a
few rush promotions for us. Check out the videos of the concert at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e08IdWjv4JA.
Many Brothers went on Spring Break to Destin, Florida. While there,
many people were impressed by the gentlemanly conduct of our Brothers,
and one woman wrote a letter to the Vice President of Student Affairs
at OSU, Dr. Lee Bird. The woman was very complimentary of our house
and the quality of men we have in our chapter. She pointed out how
responsible and courteous guys were to those around them on the beach.
Dr. Bird was proud to hear that Fiji was once again making OSU look
great!
Our Rush Chairs are beginning to take rushees out to dinner so if you
have any names of guys you think would make excellent Phi Gams please
send them to asher.griffin@okstate.edu.
