  Hello Parents!

The 2009-2010 School Year is up and running. Hard to believe we are now in the 4th week of school. Things around the FiJi House have been hopping, with the kickoff of “Homecoming” preparations, “Follies” tryouts and practices and miscellaneous activities on campus. Oh Yes, they all seem to be attending classes and studying also.
We have 34 pledges this fall, and I have been able to master all of their first names. I will be working with them on their cleaning skills and ironing skills, and Bennett and I are planning “dancing lessons” later in the fall. We will also be working on etiquette lessons, after homecoming, when the house gets back to normal. (We did manage to have one Formal Dinner, in spite of the homecoming project, aka: mess).

Last Wednesday, the Fiji Pledge Class competed in the annual basketball game against the Sigma Nu Pledge Class. This was the 4th year to have the NuJi Cup, and this was the 4th year for us to win. It was great fun. I was temporarily out of my senses when I challenged the Sigma Nu House Mom to a boxing match during half-time. It was great half-time entertainment, she was a lot bigger then me----but I held my own. Took a few hits for the FiJi’s. It was fun --- great to give the boys my support.

I am a hands-on “House Mom”, one who is involved in their activities, not one that stays hidden in the apartment. If you need anything or would like to visit please feel free to call me at 405-612-1086.

Dates to Remember: Dad’s Day, Saturday, Sept. 26th and Homecoming walk-around, Friday, Oct. 16th , Homecoming, Saturday, Oct. 17th. Hope to see you at these activities.

Mama, Rena
